The Lyrics

This collection of limericks was developed for use at a Hallowe'en night open-mike, based on the theme "Murder and Mayhem". Most of these verses have also been submitted to OEDILF, the online limerick dictionary.
Elmer Fudd, a myopic fanatic,
Dreamed new schemes based on urgings ecstatic:
With a web-purchased gun, he
Could 'wub out' Bugs Bunny
In bursts of firepower automatic.

Here's the graveplot of secretive Gary,
Who, with weapon concealed, was quite chary;
But the chain of Pam's locket
Got caught in his pocket —
The upshot resulting was scary.

It's a myst'ry where they've buried Perry,
Whom those gangsters dispatched on a ferry.
And we've not yet inferred
Where his corpse is interred?
Let us query it over a sherry.

Bad advice killed belligerent Barry:
Friends advised he must try concealed carry.
In a duel by épée,
His cloak got in the way —
Couldn't counter a thrust with a parry.

Heard the grizzly report about Maurie?
Torn remains were unearthed in the quarry.
It appears that a bear
Somehow wandered in there;
That's the heart-rending 'rest of the story'.

On All-Saints'-Day, a jest that's suggestive:
Cemetarians' charges grow restive.
Can we face with aplomb
A mass uprising zom-
-bie, infesting our trick-or-treat festive?

It should be mentioned that you can sing these limericks in a Hallowe'en-appropriate mode by switching to the minor key for chords I and !V; V7 stays in the major version.
