Song Parodies -> "George & Germaine Briant"

Original Song Title:

"Let’s Be Thankful"

Parody Song Title:

"George & Germaine Briant"

Parody Written by:

The Holy Matrimony of Ben Pollack & Doris Robbins

The Lyrics

This week’s theme at Fedora Fred’s parody-factory: marriage. We salute the idea of holy blissful matrimony by reprising a parody about that great couple from divine Louisiana, George & Germaine Briant. Originally submitted in July of 2022.
Let’s remember George & Germaine Briant,
Married at a church cathedral,
Remember their great accomplishment,
83 years as a couple,

A great man, George Briant, painted signs,
And Germaine Briant, a great wife,
Their lifetimes sometimes had a surprise,
But they had a great married life!

Remember, in 1951,
300 Boy Scouts saw “Roxanne”,
George Briant, saw these Scouts having fun,
On “Beat the Clock”, they cheered as fans,

Remember George Briant's wedding day,
In July 1921,
Remember George & Germaine Briant,
And let’s commemorate their love!
