The Lyrics

Here is the song about the Federal Communications Commission.
Watch, (Start in to watch, then you’ll be looking,)
Then, you’ll watch, (Start in to sing, then you’ll be looking,)
That broadcast is bound to get you,

Oh, (Turn on the show, then censor it,)
Don’t go slow, (Turn on the show, then censor it,)
That broadcast is bound to get you,

Broadcast, broadcast, broadcast, broadcast, broadcast...mmm...

Broadcast Steps,
Start in to watch, then soon, you’ll be looking,
Broadcast Steps,
Turn on the show, your show will keep censoring,

One, two, three,
It’s a big censorship, (dee-de-oh!)
You’ll agree,
It’s the show that’s putting the times on its feet,

Broadcast Steps,
Once you begin, you have to give in to
Broadcast Steps,
Get on your show, ‘cause everyone knows that

If you’re looking at it,
Oh, you’ll catch on at once,
Well, simple as FCC,
It’s the Broadcast Steps!

Broadcast Steps,
Start in to watch, then soon, you’ll be looking,
Broadcast Steps,
Turn on the show, your show will keep censoring,

One, two, three,
It’s a new programmer, (doo-doo-do-doo!)
You’ll agree,
It’s the show that’s putting the times on its feet,

Broadcast Steps,
Once you begin, you have to give in to
Broadcast Steps,
Get on your show, ‘cause everyone knows that

If you’re looking at it,
Oh, you’ll catch on at once,
Well, simple as FCC,
It’s the Broadcast Steps, whoa!

Broadcast Steps,
(instrumental call-back)
Broadcast Steps,
(instrumental call-back)

One, two, three,
It’s a new censorship, (doo-doo-do-doo!)
You’ll agree,
It’s the step that’s censoring the show on its standards,

Broadcast Steps,
(instrumental call-back)
Broadcast Steps,
(instrumental call-back)

If you’re at the Standards,
You’ll catch on at once,
Simple as S&P,
It’s the Broadcast Steps, whoa!

Simple as the day is long!

Oh joy, somehow Captain Copy/Paste posted yet another reprise of my trademark parody song without getting permission first. So now you’re taking over the torch for parodying this song now? I never expressly told you to do that, but if you want to use this song even more times than I already have, no one will stop you. Not even Phil Ossifer or the management of this website.

Just out of curiosity, have you even listened to the original song at all, or are you simply parodying it because you saw my entries of it first? I ask because I already listened to the song a thousand times beforehand, giving me the prerequisite for parodying it correctly, but hey, you do you.

Seriously? You’re trashing this guy for not getting “permission” to use “your” song? I’d say be glad anyone else even knows it exists. I have no doubt the vast majority of people on here skip almost everything you write ‘cuz it’s pretty much all the same. Besides, he’s the same guy you asked to take over your Best-‘50s-TV-show-evarrrr franchise.

This is the most recent parody of “Rhythm Steps” I have seen so far. Maybe I could make one for George&GermaineBriantFan. I have made eight song parodies at the minute and maybe at some point one for “Rhythm Steps” will be the next one! Plus, I haven’t made any song parodies since last year.

Good idea, BrilliantJ8. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Don’t forget the ending line, “simple as the day is long”, which is the entire point of parodying this song!

Yes, because everyone on this website wants the same old orchestra tune to be repeated a million times over, as if we haven’t all gotten tired of it already. If only the people who endlessly defend this song from 1935 could parody some newer, and more modern material that contributes to this website. Just sayin’…

Dont agree with Libby too often .. but why are you going along with this ridiculous crap, Duc? Are you trolling this guy? If so, you should stop; it cant be good for the website when this loon keeps submitting hundreds of parodies of songs that no one has ever heard of. Makes the site look like a bulletin board for a lunatic asylum. You've invested thousands of man hours in all your parodies, so what the hell are you doing?

Just for the record, the Comment from 10/29/23 is NOT me (I haven't visited in nearly a week). Although that person is right, they should make up their own silly pseud. :)
