The Lyrics

In case you’re wondering if I made this “Beat the Clock” show featuring 300 Boy Scouts up...I haven’t. I have found at least THREE pictures which are undoubtedly from this show, all of which are from the “elephant scene”, and the links to each of them are located at the bottom of this parody.
Got the pictures, got the pictures;
Got the pictures, got the pictures, got the pictures.
Of that “Beat the Clock” show’s clamor
A Boy Scouts extravaganza,
Here they are, but first a stanza,
Got the pictures!

First one’s from “Life”, yes, it’s from “Life”,
From September 17th, 1951!
It’s about that large elephant,
Everyone here knows what that meant,
With this picture, you’ll believe it;
Got the pictures!

Found the next; one afternoon,
On a Fandom page; so that makes two!
But there was one more I lacked,
If I found the third, then that’d be that!!

Got the pictures, got the pictures;
Got the pictures, got the pictures, got the pictures.
Third one’s from “Boy’s Life” magazine,
Same month as that “Life” magazine,
Now there’s evidence of that scene;
GOT THE PICTURES!!

Like the “Am I Right” site critters,
They must think I’ve “Got the Jitters”,
Well, here’s proof of this rare show,
I’ve got the pictures!!
Here are the three photos that you can see for yourself: First photo here. (First photo from the “elephant scene”. From LIFE magazine, Sep. 17, 1951, Google Books) Second photo here. (Another picture from the “elephant scene”. This is a link to the “Photos” gallery on the “Beat the Clock” page on the Mark Goodson Fandom page. I don’t know where this one originally came from.) Third photo here. (Yet another photo from the same scene. From Boy’s Life magazine, September 1951, Google Books)

Anyone who had any doubts about whether or not this show actually happened can throw those out now — I assure you, these pictures prove that it did. Ask yourself this question: How many other women in the entirety of human history could have attracted 300 Boy Scouts? (And this was in the early years of TV!) Doris Robbins (Ben Pollack’s wife) certainly couldn’t have done it. There’s a reason why I call this “the greatest moment in television history”.
