The Lyrics

This second long running PBS Kids show will wrap up production after 25 years in 2022!
(It is so forlorning)

[[1st Verse:]]
When school was out, me and my buddies came in
Turned on the TV, watched this cute aardvark
Through all of the times, I would see this cute aardvark's face
Ain't no great show out there that can make a lotta memes!
Big fam'ly troubles and coping with odds, big fantasies
With big Binky and his slicky gang
Punching out his innocent sister, in a great meme
It was epic than the other good ol' memes
And even though kids had many issues, some big dramas
When trends spread out, I'd watch Arthur
I reminisce on the things he said, it was great
Watching that nice aardvark on the small screen
And who's thinkin 'bout Elwood City
Hey, I've seen the greatest epic scenes, oh yes!
Like, balding up his big fist, that's right
Mrs. Read caught him and grounded him on the bad side!
And even as a big bro, Arthur
You never take anger far, Arthur!
I finally get the glimpse
For a child, it's not easy growing up that is!
You always have good temper
A great cartoon aardvark on TV, you have came a long way
Though this year could now be your last, but we'll say that
you'll be in hearts forevermore, I'll give you a goodbye

[[Chorus:]]
Arthur, we will be missing you (Bye Arthur)
Great Arthur, twenty-five years on the air (You are appreciated)
Arthur, we will be missing you

[[2nd Verse]]:
No, Elwood City, it's not even real
Even though it's charming, cause it's having good ol' zeal
Green Grebes profound and those made it great, they're extinct now
Timbers all chopped down for a city
They say Buster is fatherless, but all the while
Bitzi hugging on to Buster at divorce
David Read caters to folks
Also even the Tibbles
Are greatest troublemakers!
That Ratburn he was gayly married
The toughest teacher of the school, having a big-arse nose
He ain't scary, cause even though he gets mad
He is kind cause he likes his whole good ol' class!
I like that in which that D.W.
She sometimes pouts when things don't go her way whatsoever
'Cause remember that time, she threw her food
I'd never left it alone, 'cause it cared for kids
Plus I knew that big Binky dog the big bully
That Brain character is smarter than his classmates!
Kate be crying the wrath that she was giving
Ed Crosswire sells cars that are good nice and gleaming
But now this is the end, we're all grown
You're trying to put many memes on the web
And [[Repeat last two lines of first verse]]

[[Chorus:]]

[[3rd Verse:]]
Surfing on YouTube, I do reminisce
'Cause through all the years, I'll remember what Arthur said to me
And when it seems that it concerns
He says the things that will not make you burn bridges
With Arthur you can learn from mistakes
To keep kids informed there's no limit to the things he did
And all my good old memories
Filled with all the great things Arthur told me
And even though this world's crazy
Arthur told all the kids just be you
There are some words kids can express how they feel
You never hide any trends, staying on top
And I appreciate how you grew me
And all the extra love that you gave kids
Arthur's just like Mr. Fred Rogers!
If you can just be your own self, life'll be easy
Your future will be so bright, if you move on
Life is full of big struggles, so just face them.
But [[Repeat of last two lines in first verse]]

[[Chorus, first 2 lines:]]
Great Arthur, we will be missing you (Bye Arthur)
Sweet Arthur, Arthur (Bye Arthur)
Goodbye, goodbye...

The first Arthur book is "Arthur's Nose" written by Erie author Marc Brown in 1976. The franchise didn't make its way onto TV until 1996.
