The Lyrics

Tributed to my past fortnight.
Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
All drivel here on my page, it's wrong.
Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
I'm gunna write... out scrolls of dung.
Hurry now you're cracking, praying for no cramps.
Hurry now you're cracking in this quick exam.

Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
I scribble Lear's corruption has gone.
Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
Run out of time... no scroll is strong
Death does ghastly creep, the bait is this brutal test.
I fret and a 'lake' warms up, so call out 'Jake's all wet!'

Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
I shiver, fearing the final gong.
Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
I can't survive this gawdang pong.
Everybody's writing, we've got so much to-do,
We're writing crappy and poorish astute 'validoots'.

Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
Unravelled years and names that belong.
Quote quote, bugger bugger, quick exam,
We're tryin' to write on as a one throng.
Beg for two minutes writing, whingeing, 'Boobied it uuup!'
Beg for two minutes writing to complete this-
STOP!

Well done, Luke...and I might be the only one who KTOS...in fact, one of few who knows who the Wiggles are! I remember them when they were a pop band called The Cockroaches...ah memories. But I digress...555

LOL, Luke! KTOS all too well, owning a 4-year-old pet monkey named Sister of Me. Fantastic rhyming, fives, and the usual. Oh, and the Wiggles rock the socks.

A few of us here have kids, Kristof. And some of us are even old enought to remember the 'roaches :-)

I'll try for a 'Dorothy the Dinosaur' parody in a few days when trial exams are finally through, something like 'All snotty- a sinus sore'.

(ABC) DKTOS,. Luke, seems clever and nicely done, although I had to figure out what you were talking about from the context since you've used a lot of what appear to be "colloquialisms" that are probably familiar to those from down under but not necessarily to those who aren't. So, is your subject here something like a "Pop Quiz" or is it a more critical exam as far as determining your grade in the class? Or do I have the whole thing all wrong even at that?

(ABC) An intense and rhythmic write that brings back blue-book memories...

Sounds like too much coffee.

Rick-LOL!
Paul, without rabbitting on about the details, which I just deleted after seeing how much darn space they took up, these were 'critical exams' but the 'quick exam' title refers to how a solid 20% of our grade was decided in an hour and a half of writing, so we all scribbled crap out to the dickens.
Johnny D- Me am understanding not. What blue-book is?
Phil Alexander - August 31, 2004 - Report this comment
Great one, Luke. Loved the title, especially :-)
Jake A Ralphing (Luke Brattoni) - August 31, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks Phil, I agree, the title's the only thing going for this one. Could someone enlighten me about this 'blue-book' reference? Has it got somethign to do with those graduation booklets you get everyone to sign, like Sabrina the teenage witch in Can't Hardly Wait?

Luke, if you EVER write anything about those exams again... I'll hit you anyway... they were NOT funny!!!! What's worst is that though you were wasting time writing this crap when you should have been studying, you probably aced them all anyway... *slap*

OW. Thanks, Mo.

My kids used to love The Wiggles, but I'm happy to say this one doesn't ring a bell (anything from the Shrek soundtrack and I'd be all over it though). Fun read anyway.
