The Lyrics

Iran and Venezuela have been pressuring OPEC to switch to the Euro for their oil trade due to the dollar's recent fall in value. The last time a country made this switch was in Iraq about a year before we invaded them. It looks like Iran might be our next target....
Swallowing us in the desert
And worsening so far
Wracked for miles and burned by doubts
And bound to see the fall
'Cause now we know the proof they're lying
Is seen by what we've read
The Chimp himself just can't be bothered
By debts and thousands dead

Oh nooo
Here we gooo

Scouting for... one sign
All is fine
None to find

I read the news today
Felt like augury
To war we'll head again
Over currency

Euros rise while dollar's dead
We'll bleed the Saudis' empathy
Fear is strong but lost to anyone
Who has a brain
Kills for wealth have killed ourselves
While drilling up oil for blood
The way we live, it will fall to pieces
While others up their gross

I read the news today
Felt like augury
To war we'll head again
Over currency
Leopards in the sand
Are the burden of Iran
Increase the debt again
As they die for greed

It's just the burden of Iran
For just the bankers of this art
It's just a rumor in my head
...but not...

So follow me into the desert
While spectres spy afar
Their doom is due to a fictional heaven
Where all their crazy pricks have gone

Oh nooo
There they gooo

Scouting for... some sign
The divine
None to find

I read the news today
Felt like augury
To war we'll head again
Over currency
Soldiers in the sand
Face the burden of Iran
Increase the debt again
Solemn irony
As they die for greed...

Kinda what Alvin said - scary - I ran all the way home. Aquavelvadad is a scary dude. He's even scarier with nukes. Iran should have been the target instead of Iraq. Now all we get out of it is Iraqnaphobia. I liked it way better when Iran was fighting Iraq. No one in the free world cared who got whooped on. Now we are out of cans of whoop ass and we are staring down the sites of a nuclear terror nation. I really think the Israelis are going to deal heavy on Iran because they know that the first nuke to be lobbed by Aquavevladad is going to be at them. Very serious parody and worth mention.

Deep and very well done

Thanks, McKludge, Alvin, Guy, & AFW. Guy, while I'm no fan of Iran, I really hope we don't jump the gun with them. We really can't afford another war. For the most part, Iran is only moving toward nukes in order to prevent us invading them. I really doubt they'd be stupid enough to nuke Israel. Surely, they know that would be suicide.

Very good substitutions, and I like the fictional heaven verse, but it is a distortion to imply that coalition forces are fighting the War on Terror for greed or currency.

MrMacphisto - Do not underestimate the lunacy of the guy in charge over there. He has vowed to wipe Israel off the map. He would be stupid enough to fire nukes at Israel but knowing the Israelis they would pre-empt the threat. What will be a good indication that Iran is very close to producing a nuke is when Israel hits them. Until then there is no need for much concern. And I have to agree with JJ about the distortion.

Very topical, and disturbing. Two nations very much hating the US, vowing to destroy us.
Roger Wood - November 21, 2007 - Report this comment
Topical & scary.

Thanks for the votes, John, Dee, and Roger. John, I'll put it this way. Invading Iraq wasn't for national security, UN violations, or spreading democracy. So what does that leave us with concerning motivations?.... Very few wars are fought for things other than greed.
