Hello again, comrades! I know I seem to have disappeared from this website recently, but I've been having some personal issues & haven't had much time to attend to my beloved song parodies :( However, I will strive to get back up to submitting on a semi-regular basis. Besides, I'm so close to #100, and I've got something special in the pressure cooker for that one! Anyways, about the parody. I intended to have this in around the time of the Jokela massacre in Finland, but general laziness & such caused a delay. However, with the recent massacre at Northern Illinois University, I felt this could be delayed no longer. If you happen to know any of the victims, then I feel very sorry for you. Enjoy the parody, and let us pray for the fallen. DKTOS?
(church bell ringing)
The day is shattered.
Innocents murdered.
How could we know this would happen?
Schools are supposed to be places of learning,
Without blood being spilled & needless death.
But sometimes, things go wrong,
These questions we asketh:
Hey, what went wrong? When and where?
Why’d they commit such an act?
How can we prevent this again?
There was no reason for those people to die!
But it’s too late, the tragedy’s struck,
There’s not much that we can do but mourn.
Still we wonder: could this have been stopped,
And why were we not soon forewarned?
Oh dear lord, please give us strength now!
Let us get over our sadness!
Let us pray that in the future,
There won’t be such acts of madness!
Oh dear lord, please give us strength now!
Let us get over our sadness!
Let us pray that in the future,
There won’t be such acts of madness!
In life or death, we’ll never forget
How much our comrades care for us.
When either one of us has passed on,
We shall be united by our sadness.
Oh dear lord, please give us strength now!
Let us get over our sadness!
Let us pray that in the future,
There won’t be such acts of madness!
We’ll move on, we’ll move on,
But our friends will always be in our hearts!
We’ll move on, we’ll move on,
And we’ll be joined when this world we depart!
Oh dear lord, please give us strength now!
Let us get over our sadness!
Although we’re sad, things will get better,
And we’ll be back to our normal lives.
We won’t forget that fateful day when
A massacre at school was contrived.
We’ll move on, we’ll move on,
But our friends will always be in our hearts!
We’ll move on, we’ll move on,
And we’ll be joined when this world we depart!

R.I.P., Marie T. Baranski (née Phoenix), 1928-2008. (No, she was not killed in a school shooting. She died of natural causes. I'm simply mentioning her as a token of my appreciaton for her. I'm sure she'd be proud of me. May God be with her.)

No voting, as this is a sincere tribute and DKTOS...happened in my neck of the woods, and although I don't know any of the victims personally, it is a sad day indeed. Funny how these tragedies bring folks together.
Thank you for your appreciation. It's good to be back.
