Pirate Radio
by David Tanny
I'm a drivin' across the nation,
I tune in to every station,
All the music is predictable,
I can't listen to this bull.
Then I stumbled on a pirate,
I hear the music that was full of wit,
I heard some curse words from the deejay,
I can't believe that's what he does say.
chorus:
I'm on a pirate radio,
I'm on a pirate, whoo ooh, radio.
The playlist is...so eclectic,
It even plays some Weird Al Yankovic,
Why are the others, so predictable?
No explanation, its a riddle.
chorus
I'm on a pirate radio,
I'm on a pirate, whoo ooh, radio.
I'm on a pirate radio,
I'm on a pirate, whoo ooh, radio.
The pirate stations can come from anywhere,
You might catch them here or there,
I call my pirate on the telephone,
I'm on a wavelength near my home.
And I told him, his station was cool,
I tune it in from across the avenue,
And he told me, it's radio his way,
And it's a thrill, that's what he does say.
chorus
I'm on a pirate radio,
I'm on a pirate, whoo ooh, radio.
I'm on a pirate radio,
I'm on a pirate, whoo ooh, radio.
I'm on a pirate radio,
I'm on a pirate, whoo ooh, radio.
I'm on a pirate radio,
I'm on a pirate, whoo ooh, radio.
