The Lyrics

Well, I decided to do a more popular song by U2 this time. Hopefully, more people will recognize this one. This is yet another political parody that addresses an important issue: poverty. This obviously isn't very funny, but I wrote it to make a statement.... For those of you not familiar with Compton, it's a subcity of L.A. that is known for its extreme poverty and crime.
It's a warm and wet December day
It's not that far from East L.A.
Blood is spilling on the ground
All police will hear the sound
Of an angel

Compton, like a killing spree
Tonight, this city will make you flee
It's hell...

So wrong
Well this thug won't let me go
So long
Angel of Compton

Dead man at 23
The street cries out its misery
We've got pure cocaine and kedamine
Vials of some PCP
A strange hell

Pass the days by getting high
We count the days before we die
Angel

So wrong
Well this drug won't let me go
So long
Angel of Compton
Angel of Compton, yeah

These sins in Coooo...
Compton's soul
No, no... no, no... no, no
Hey, hey.... right now

Blue lights on the avenue
God knows, they shot for you
Lower class, they see these things
Lives stolen from a drug sting
Blinded, we've lost our way
In sidestreets and the alleyway
With cars exploding in the night
Shooting up the city in broad daylight
Angel in devil's shoes
These drugs won't cure your blues
It never was like an... aaa... angel
Yeah... yeah
Angel of Compton

(4x)
Angel
