Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

When I took you to
The Star Trek Con, I was immune
But now it's through
I didn't mean to get hooked, too

Now I bring you home
And tell you goodnight in a foreign tongue
I'm sorry, baby
I didn't mean to learn Klingon

Whoa, baby, I didn't mean to learn Klingon

I read it wrong
I was just tryin' to watch "Wrath of Khan"
In the wrong room
I didn't mean to learn Klingon

I know you
Expected a normal guy
And were confused
When I said "yee-KKHONG-choo" (1)

Do-KHA, baby (2)
I didn't mean to learn Klingon

I told you twice
But a warrior can't be nice
Told myself to yee-JATK-KKHO (3)
But I didn't take my own advice

Hey now, don't be shocked
Let's kick back and watch "Search for Spock"
Have some bloodwine, and some qagh (4)
I didn't mean to learn Klingon

Whoa, baby, I didn't mean to learn Klingon

Why don't I take you to
The Star Trek Con, on Day Two
And when it's through
You'll be speaking Klingon, too

Whoa baby, you'll be speaking Klingon, too

(1) yIQongchu : yee-KKHONG-choo = Sleep Well
(2) Do'Ha': Do-KHA = How Unfortunate
(3) yIjatlhQo' : yee-JATK-KKHO = Be quiet, Don't Speak!
(4) qagh: cogkh = Serpent Worms, Best eaten live

Didn't Shatner do a movie that was entirely in Esperanto?

Yes, he did, it was called The Incubus, and it was released in 1965; I saw it many years ago on DVD. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incubus_(1966_film)

Isnt the name "Porfle", in actuality, Klingon for "Gifted in the ways of lyrical manipulation"

@Lefty -- thanks, I knew I wasn't imagining that! @CML - well if it isn't, it should be!
