Parody Song Title:

"Addicted to Grub"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

IM addicted to grub LOL
When soup is on, cooked on the stove
And you are in a hungry mode
You like stuff, like grilled steaks
A hot dog and some beans baked

There's some food, that you heat
Not brussel sprouts, or even beets
You have some rice, and with some beans
Don't let the grub, just overheat

Whoa, you like to eat things like tunips and spuds, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to grub

Asparagus, and baked beans
A hamburger, made of beef
Some French fries, and some ketchup
Some more of spuds, that are French fired, yeah French fried

Some mustard yeah
But please no, no mayonnaise
Hash browns, bananas too
Pickles, but not the juice

Whoa, you like to eat things like tunips and spuds, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to grub

Might as well face it, you're addicted to grub
Might as well face it, you're addicted to grub
Might as well face it, you're addicted to grub
Might as well face it, you're addicted to grub
Might as well face it, you're addicted to grub

------ lead guitar ------

When soup is on, cooked on the stove
And you are in a hungry mode
You like stuff, like grilled steaks
A hot dog and some beans baked

Whoa, I like to eat things like a hungry mob , oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say I can't get enough
You know Im gonna have to face it, Im addicted to grub

Might as well face it, Im addicted to grub
Might as well face it, Im addicted to grub
Might as well face it, Im addicted to grub
Might as well face it, Im addicted to grub
Might as well eat it, Im addicted to grub

Hi Jack - good job - 5 for pacing (just barely) - 4 for funny (it's clever but not very funny) - 5 for overall (consistent and coherent throughout, lines all work well together for overall effect). Well done.

Great choice for a parody! How about looking at my dessert song, "Chocolate Chunky"?

(ABC4) I agree with Johnny D's assessment from 3 years ago(!). Plus, a repeated chorus. You've come a long way, baby.

This was better than a lot of your earlier work, but still it was a bit shabby in places and reminded me a lot of Weird Al's "Addicted To Spuds" seeing that they're both about food.

(ABC4) not bad but clearly an early one of yours Jack - your recent stuff is much better and less repetitive

(ABC4) An old one, but for the most part a good one (just a tad too repetitive)!

I echo JD's comment from three and a half years ago. You've come a long way, Jack. "You have some rice, and with some beans/Don't let the grub, just overheat"?? wha..?? 444

(ABC4) Hmm . .. baked beans and spuds both get repeated quite a bit and actually the spuds do remind me a lot of Weird Al's "Addicted to Spuds". . .Jack. . .don't take this offensively, but you know this is not your best, I don't think it's your best "A" song either. . .Oh well--nice try though

Old school Jack Wilson! I do agree with the comments on repetition although I know you've improved greatly on that in the past three years. Fun read.

(ABC) Not bad. Like the others said, a bit Weird Al-esque. I liked the pickle juice line—that stuff is nasty!

ABC- Well Jack, you know I always love a good food related parody. This was very funny and well done and also.. very Yanko-vish (is that a word?)
Agrimorfee - September 06, 2007 - Report this comment
Mikey: "Yankovistic"? :)
