The Lyrics

Humor on the cutting edge...
Your backyard just seems plain
With the flowers and knick-knacks
I can see your rose bush dying
I can bring that beauty back
Leave it all up to me
I'm the landscaper you need

I just need some big clippers
Cutting branches down, shaping up the ends
I'd take the greatest care, cutting
Just like Edward Scissorhands

I want to be your hedge trimmer
Your bush won't look the same
Oh, let me be your hedge trimmer
You won't have to pay me money (Hey, hey)

Got designs in my head
Let me show my artistry
Open up your toolshed
Let me work on the topiary

I want to be your hedge trimmer
Put the neighbors to shame!
I'll have a ball, your hedge trimmer
Put me to the test
I'm going to be your hedge trimmer
The weather's cool and sunny

(Hedge---hedge trimmer)

I did it right!
I clipped a rabbit (clipped a rabbit, clipped a rabbit, clipped a rabbit)
Watch me spin! (gotta watch him spin!)
Now here's the hard stuff (now here's the hard stuff)
A mountain lion! (made a scary lion)
Show your bush to me (bush to me)
And I will clip for you (clip for you)
Artistry, and it's all for you

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, a bush for you
Gonna build a tiger
Fish, dog and much more, hey!
I've been clipping in rhythm
I've been clipping in rhythm
Gotta build that camel, and kangaroo
Come on, come on, see my leafy zoo
Come see my leafy zoo
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, woo
I've been clipping in rhythm
I've been clipping in rhythm
I do the clipping
Clipping all day and night...

Not crazy about the original song, but a great title. Didn't somebody do "Trimmin' On the Hedge" to Aerosmith's "Livin' On the Edge"? Not to be confused with Weird Al's "Livin' In the Fridge."

Clever, Agri- I "more or less" know the OS...enough to take a hack at it, anyway....Clipping off 3 five's...I don't have any plants or hedges so you will have to settle for Finger and Toe-Nail clippings...I'm keeping the extra 5 for myself though ~ ~ ~

Strangely enough, when I got the idea for "Bad Grammar" to this song, I'd started "Hedge Trimmer" (inspired by the line "Let me do your topiary").. but that never got finished. Nice job, Agrimorfee.

Frikkin' brilliant and hilarious, Agri --- I laughed out loud on "Gotta build that camel" ... and all references to "bush" and especially the line "Open up your toolshed" all get my Stamp Of Approval (STAMP!). ;-) And I could easily imagine Peter Gabriel singing this in the midst of topiary-animation!

What's it with you and Red Ant's wife clipping bushes this round? Great job here!

(ABC4-I) Good to revisit this one. Loved "I clipped a rabbit".

(ABC4H) DOn't know too much of this song, only the bits that were in Weird Al's 'Polka Party!', but it read very well.

(ABC4) ha! the "clipped a rabbit" was hilarious against the OS playing, Ag - and it's hard not see the alternative meaning of this after having just read Jack's entry - 555

ABC- This title sounds familiar... but mine was just about simple gardening. Yours is a different topiary- er- I mean, topic. Good work, Agri.

ABC(H) Nice work if you can get it. Shear delight.

(ABC4H) Yeah, there's a sort of weird synchronicity between yours and Jack Ant's entries....I was expecting a Day Tripper parody, but this is better. 555

Originality (A) Can't say anything about the creative, seemed like a well disguised double meaning to the whole song, (Your bush won't look the same) of course that could be because the parody preceding this one was about that topic; Pacing (A) I didn't have any trouble following the song to the original whatsoever; Comedy (B) Very funny, the only thing lacking is that no one line to kick it up and over, but none the less good on the funny side; The X Factor (B) This parody was all around perfect from a technical stand point, but I can't say that it's an amazing parody because other than slight chuckles, I didn't laugh horribly. Still, it'd be nice to see a recording of this one, oh wait. . .I forgot I'm your recording artist---I really need to find some free time to get started on some of your guy's backlog.
