The Lyrics

me and my friend thought this up hiking up a mountain (we had nothing better to do)
Just a customer, a phone in the system, oh
Another lonely day, with no reception, oh
More loneliness than any man could bear
Rescue me before I fall into despair, oh

I'll send an s.m.s. to the world
I'll send an s.m.s. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
short message service, yeah
short message service, yeah

A year has passed since I called the help desk
But I should have known this right from the start
Only hope can keep me together
Next G can make mobiles cool but
Next G can break your wallet
Ill send an s.m.s. to the world
Ill send an s.m.s. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
short message service, yeah
short message service, yeah
short message service, yeah
short message service, yeah

Woke up this morning, got my Next G phone
Hundred million messages stuck in a Telstra fault
Seems I'm not alone at being ripped off
Hundred billion customers, looking for value
Ill send an s.m.s. to the world
Ill send an s.m.s. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
short message service, yeah
short message service, yeah
short message service, yeah
short message service, yeah
Sending out at an s.m.s.
Sending out at an s.m.s.
Sending out at an s.m.s.
Sending out at an s.m.s.
Sending out at an s.m.s.
Sending out at an s.m.s...

I agree. It's especially funny because there was a mobile phone provider commercial on the radio whereabouts I live a couple of years ago, and it used The Police's 'Message in a Bottle' but changed the lyrics to 'sending out an SMS'.

Thought of bits of this ages ago, difference being "I hope that someone gets my message on a mobile, yeah". Good though!

Hahahahahaha, a perfectly obvious parody for this song, today at work this song was playing n I was singing the parody chorus lines but bit differently to yours. Great stuff all 5s!
