The Lyrics

Another song from the Epic 40 list gets Punk'd!
(Dead Kennedys…) (Clash!)

Crashed your Birthday party
And brought some cocaine and speed
Don’t care if it’s for your infant
Cause we’re punk rockers!

Rah, ah, ah, ah-ck…
Punk Rockers!
Rah, ah, ah, ah-ck…
Punk Rockers!

(“Dude!”: Background)
When we’re up on stage
We’ll jump and scream with wild growls
Riot grrrls think we are all hunks
They’re wooed by Mohawks
They have to be drunk
To like us Punk Rockers!!!

Rah, ah, ah, ah-ck…
Punk Rockers!
Rah, ah, ah, ac-ck…
Punk Rock-aahs!

Punk Rah-ockers!
Punk Rah-ockers!

Insults we are throwin’
The crowd’s provoked
The Sex Pistols
Launch spit missiles
We’ll chuck cans of Spam
And don’t give a damn!

Punk Rocker!
Loud! Loud!

(Bad Religion…) (Pogues!)

We’ll rock on your graves!
Munching on Vermin!
Just like Osbourne!
Stoned stage diving!
Parents hiding!

(Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah!)
Punk Rocker!
(Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah!)
Punk Rock-aaaah!

Punk Raaah-aaaaah-ocker!
Punk Raaah-aaaah-ocker!

Not Eric Clapton
Pierced lips flappin’
Sounds of sex and

Punk Rocker!
Loud! Loud!

Dope-laced martinis
Help to make records
Groupies ride our rockets
Tons of bastard children

Hendrix played with fire
That’s a pun!
He’s a Guitar Hero
But we did it with drums!

Must dodge the burnt shards
We bombed our guitars
Like The Who but better!

Today’s a Green Day! (Clip of “American Idiot”)
Offspring is Child’s play! (Clip of “Pretty Fly For A White Guy”)
Freaks are all Misfits! (Clip of “Dig up her bones”)
Caught Reel Big Fish! (Clip of “Everything Sucks”)
The taste is Rancid! (Clip of “Time Bomb”)
Ketchup and Mustard Plug! (Clip of “Mr. Smiley”)
Beating up Flogging Molly! (Clip of “The Seven Deadly Sins”)
Can’t see The Unseen! (Clip of “Scream Out”)
Soccer with Dropkick Murphy’s!!!

Punk Rocker! (Rocker, Punk Rocker)
Punk Rocker! (Rocker, eeeeeahhhhaaa)
Punk Rocker! (Rocker, Punk Rocker)
Punk Rocker (Rockers, eeeeeahhhhaaa)

Hey, this is real good. 5s from this corner too. (Speaking of votes, who the hell gave it 1s? The pacing is PERFECT!)

Pacingswise pretty good but unless there's a new punk wave going that I've missed I'd say emo is still the target if you wanna be topic, though I think B52's will have a new album out soon from what I've heard.

(SOTM) It wouldn't make me cry to never hear a B-52s song ever again, but I won't hold that against you:). I wouldn't list The Pogues as punk, but you stated the case for the whole genre. Good fun matched to the OS style.

Never realized how long the OS is.. the parody was good, but nothing like your best: not exactly sure what's missing, maybe it's just that if anything you're understating Punk - it's just not outrageous enough.

(SOTM) I wish I could say that I'll never hear THIS B-52's song again, but I have to parody it--why did you add this long and really obnoxious song has to be among my bottom 5 of the 40 if ranked by what song would be my favorite, that said, your grammar in here was spot on Matty, and though as a whole it wasn't hilarious, it was kinda funny imagining the whole thing being put together to the OS, and the idea of replacing those obnoxious animal sounds with clips from hot Punk Bands is a wonderful thing. . .very good. . .

(SOTM) I've always wanted to try "Rock Lobster", but the sheer scale and complexity of it has always scared me well done for tackling it. Great idea and pacing was pretty darn had me smirking rather that LOLing. Still, 555

(SOTM) And Matthias completes yet another Epic 40 entry...and completely owns it. How do you DO that? Oh, and great job, 555, you know the drill.

(SOTM-Apr-08) What Phil said - turn up the punk. Even though the volume is a bit low on the punk meter this is a fine effort on a not so easy song to parody. Nice job Matt

Fine job with the seven minutes of virtual non-lyrics to work with. I thought this excellent, Matty: there are few filler lines, and you made all the lyrics count.

SOTM- A tough song to tackle, but you pulled it off nicely. Good job, Matty.
