The Lyrics

I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan. Never read the books, but saw the movies. And it occurred to me the story line needed a little extra...something. Below is a suggestion. DKTOS? Knowing the drama of the original song is a must: Time Warp- Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I was packing
Wand was leaving
Classes were cut short

My teachers loathe me
Though for magic I hunger
So many spells to know

I dismembered
Someone at Hogwarts
Speaking
The wrong word blend
Last night I’d been drinking
And my words came out faulty

Kicked out of Hogwarts again!
Kicked out of Hogwarts again!

The teacher said with a sniff
“You have a spell to recite
Just pronounce with your lips.”
I couldn’t get it right.

And Willie’s head combusts
Well, that’s the end of my ‘A’

Kicked out of Hogwarts again!
Kicked out of Hogwarts again!

Not too pretty
They all disapproved me
Told them “I’m pleading!
Don’t make me bawl.”

But they talked of their pension
A chance of some litigation
They concluded,
Citing law:

“In the case of a head rip
The accused takes a long trip.
Unless head of student is regained.

Just go take a vacation.
You’re a wiz on probation.”

Kicked out of Hogwarts again!
Kicked out of Hogwarts again!

Well they were pushing me to leave
My heart starting to sink
When a spell came to mind
Help me reverse my deed
With a stroke of luck
A change before my eyes
The teachers floated up
And they shrunk in size
To eyes a treat
And to ‘hers’ they changed
Soft and lovely
Gorgeous were these dames

And all the boys they did grin!
Much to the teachers’ chagrin!

So now I’m feeling bereft
And just a little contrite
For my spell’s verbal trip
Had made them just my type

And with my magic touch
All Lady Gagas became

I’m back at Hogwarts again!
I’m back at Hogwarts again!

Can't you do *something* I know? (I know, all I know is ewes and Dusty Springfield -- not a lot to work with there). Don't find the drama of HP appealing, and DK it, but the technical quality of the writing merits Fives. I'll trust you on the pacing, since for some reason, no one else has weighed in yet.

**sigh** I try not to go for the obsucre, but sometimes I don't figure in the relative age of some of the writers (tongue planted firmly in cheek...no, not that one). Glad you liked it, and to be honest, the song is way catchy in a theatrical sense.

Make you a deal, I'll take a stroll through the TT catalog and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the v/c, and look for something next week. Maybe the Beatles...hmmm.

What an inventive mind you have, Mr. Baker! [It *is* interesting to ponder what might have happened in Charms class if Harry and Ron had downed one too many Butterbeers the night before...] ;) 555

Remove tongue from cheek, please .... I'm a Baby Boomer (obviously, using TT's Law [1]), and, if not exactly proud of it, definitely not ashamed of it. But age isn't the issue. Not a fan of Rocky Potter or Harry Horror (or whatever). Never been a sci-fi fan, and "fantasy" to me, means ... n/m ;)

It''s not just TOS, it's the situation... not that you have to write for moi's sake, obviously. And I've deliberately gone for obscure OS at times; the one-hit wonders, or under-appreciated hittsl e. g. the fairly recent parody of "Sally Go 'Round The Roses". That song was a brief hit, but controversial, as most couldn't figure out its meaning. A DJ asked on the air once, and TT clued him in. But just recently, saw comments on YouTube suggesting that it was lesbian-themed, something that just wouldn't have been possible in that era (early 60s). I'll believe it when I see it -- and I'd like to see it :D

ANY-way.... sometimes hope to call one or two readers' attention to the lesser-known,but IMHO, worthwhile, songs, while also doing dozens of takes on "Yesterday". :-) I do like your writing, and just hope someday to be able fully to grok both the parody of TOS and the situation and meaning.

[1[ Tommy' s Law: You usually can get a good clue to someone's general age bracket by seeing the era of the OS that thy parody *most often* (there will surely be exceptions). Our musical tastes, like most of our other tastes, are formed in childhood, and perhaps modified a bit in early teens. You heard it here first. :-D

p. s. Since, as posted somewhere this week, I don't *plan* to be back here on a daily basis as I once was (it just sort of happened that way most of this week), don't be bashful about dropping a quick heads-up through the CAPTCHA link at the bottom of my songs. Hate to miss one that you wrote just for lil' ol' me. :) .. and feel free to use a disposable email address or whatever, or an account at inthe00s if you have one, to preserve your privacy. You don't want to give your real name to total strangers on the internet, "Warren". (heheheh)

FG- My appreciation to you, Ms.FG. Potter would be so much more interesting in many ways with heads exploding, pop divas, and a large witch and wizard dance number. Thanks so much for the v/c.
TT- Being myself on the cusp of Baby Boomdom, I find myself 'part of the generation' but I'm also in the 'my generation had some nice bits, some obscure, some not, but there are some other bits I like from other generations'. Personally, I enjoy accessing many different bits. And one day I'll be a byte.
(insert cymbal crash with pratfall...then reboot)
I'm already on the 00s, but under my real name. Maybe I'll change it. How does Armed Genuflector sound? Or Kathi? And I do appreciate your comments very much and am tickled consistently with your posts. Peace to you, and here's to keeping people tickled despite themselves...chortle chortle!

I myself find very few bits that I like beyond the early 70s, a notable exception being ABBA (no plug for our week of tributes to their Hall of Fame induction), and note that the "new" artists keep remaking the "golden oldies" (Gloria Estefan, "Everlasting Love", e. g., but much worse than either Carl Carlton Jr.'s or Robert Knight's 50s-60s versions; many other examples), possibly for lack of ability to write anything better - or as good. And as for having an actual "voice" .... shrieking is not singing.

And I'm happy to tell you that you've achieved your dream: You already byte! (Kidding, and I know you appreciate the fact that TT is probably one of very few peeps here who would connect the rimshot with the reboot -- see his reply to your "lipstick on a pig" comment @ "Show Us".) Peace, Brother, and laughter is a good road to peace, no?

Kathi? I used to win a ton of money -- play money, a lass - by playing poker online under a female name. Men are suckers for women on the Internet, where their imagination trumps the likely reality of the "figure" on the other end of the HTTP (How Turtle Took Poker) connection.

Like TT's initial comment I too have no interest in the HP drama and DKTOS but I found the read interesting to say the least but I fear much of the satire and humor escaped me. So if Fiddlegirl says it's inventive then I will follow her lead and pass to you my accolades to you on this one.

I'm usually a little more accessible, but I knew going into this one that the reader must 1) know about Harry Potter and little about his world and 2) know a little about the Rocky Horror Picture show. I do appreciate your marks on the read, Guy. I'm working on some more accessible stuff currently and hope to have a few out by next week. Gracias!

Very clever! This seems like something Fred or George might do... Now I think I have to go back and listen to the Time Warp again. It's been a while...

Even as dated as the movie might be, the soundtrack is always a hoot to listen to. Thanks, Bilbo!
