The word "babies," in this parody, refers to baby puppies, kittens, etc. that sometimes roam the streets (typically the shelter alternative) because people can't always afford to take them in. This anthem/parody also applies to male pets, although the correct word in reference to male pets is "neuter," but for pacing purposes I felt inclined to use the word "spay" to refer to every pet.
