Original Song Title:

"Matchmaker, Matchmaker"

Original Performer:

Zero Mostel

Parody Song Title:

"Nitpicker, Nitpicker"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Nitpicker, nitpicker, pick out the nits
Mess up my mind, snittle your snits
Nitpicker, nitpicker, hook by the book
Point out all my wrong unfits

Nitpicker, nitpicker, fling all your flits
Hurl to the world - my errored bits
Grime up my rhyme, pose bad spells and typ-os
Dim down any part that glows

Bad Papa, you're the bright scholar,
Mean Mama, jump o'er my king
Diss me, until I holler
Keep scanning and scanning, don't miss a thing

Nitpicker, nitpicker, pounce with your mitts
Throw your best blow, kabitz my glitz
Prune my new tune - make it the pits
Slight what I write - hit the mark, make me groan

You truncated the word "over" to "o'er" to fit the pace, so I can only give you a 153

"Kabitz"?

..don't tell me, you put that in just so that pedantic nitpickers like me can point out that "kibitz" is the usual spelling (even though it's phonetic from the Yiddish) :-)

You're right, lennie...and I never noticed, but my poetic license has expired...................and Phil, you offer a tempting alibi, but to be honest you have busted me with a "True Nit"..oh, wasn't that a movie with John Wayne..uh, maybe knot.

Yiddish kibitsen, from Middle High German kiebitzen, from Kiebitz... kibitz, short, derived from kibitzen from kibitsen. Got it?
