Potentially a good effort but a couple of bad errors in pacing -- so here's some hints. Count out the syllables in the original line then make sure to match the syllable count ..... If you had said "So for him a crisis MEANS crisil" you'd have matched the syllable count .... Last line of the third stanza; you needed to chop three syllables -- "To leave high heaps of the dead" .... BTW, I did this song in a Middle Eastern setting once, myself. See "Make it So" in my index around Christmastime of last year. There's a second song about snow in Cairo that I tossed in just for fun
