Pintail Wizard
´Way back in the ‘50s
I was caught in Kookie’s thrall.
That Sunset Strip car-parker
just seemed to have it all –
the ginchy clothes and cars, the chicks,
the kicks … he had a ball.
That perfect DA do, tho’,
I envied most of all.
Prodigiously pomaded
as a greaser’d keep his bean,
Kookie was a cool cat
who never made that scene.
His do resembled Donald’s duff,
yet daffy not at all,
but wily as cayote
was Kookie, I recall.
Just a “Pintail Wizard” –
at least I called him this.
“DA’ed lounge lizard”
with comb always in fist.
How we fans gave him “Huzzas”!
Don't, you know,
his hair looked so good.
Kookie got his action
puttin’ perps in prison cells.
With Stu and Jeff, he’d catch’em
when not applyin’ gels.
(A little dab of Brylcreem®
might do some greaseball
but when Kookie had some,
he had to use it all.)
My, but I loved
that Top Brass® pluggin' thing
with Feldon on a
striped skin a-growling.
Whatever Kookie’s label
I liked Feldon’s best
and would’ve liked it even more
had she sold it undressed,
´cause hair cream’s only hair cream,
no diff'rence 'mongst'em all,
but for a sexy seller’s pitch
I’m guaranteed to fall.

Contestant: I'll take 50s TV for 500, Alex
Tribeck: Girls were always asking him to lend them his comb in this series...
Contestant: What is 77SSS?

Hey Cookie . . . lend me your comb!!! 77 Sunset Strip.
Thanks, folks.
Guy -- AAMOF, didn't have to dig at all. "77 Sunset Strip," "Bourbon Street Beat," Hawaiian Eye," ... all favorites that I watched religiously back in the day. :-)
