| Parody Song Title: | "I Wanna Be Free (Cow version)" |
| Parody Written by: | MooRocca |
Back in 1995, a bunch of us got off on a Monkees Cowspiracy tangent. Since then, the cow-theme has seemed to follow me where ever I go... it's kinda weird and I'm starting to think someone put a cow-pox on me. Anyway, given the current outbreak of mad cow disease on this forum, I thought I'd share some of my 1995 "Moo"kees selections. This is one of them.
I wanna be free
Like the range hens flyin' by me
Like the buffalo before me
If your barn has to hold me, don't scold me, say good-bye
I wanna be free
Don't say you'll maybe rope and stake me
Cuz I know you'd rather "steak" me
Could you open up (I beg you please)
The gate for me
Moo-oo-oo-oo
I wanna graze the land, run along the sand
Lowing in the sun, always having fun
Doin' all these things, w/o any strings...don't tie me out
(Cowus:)
I wanna be free
Try to milk the sheep instead Fred
If you want to be my friend Fred
Then please turn off the fence Fred
The fence Fred...I gotta moo
I wanna be free
(Repeat Cowus)
I wanna be free
I wanna be free...
Like the range hens flyin' by me
Like the buffalo before me
If your barn has to hold me, don't scold me, say good-bye
I wanna be free
Don't say you'll maybe rope and stake me
Cuz I know you'd rather "steak" me
Could you open up (I beg you please)
The gate for me
Moo-oo-oo-oo
I wanna graze the land, run along the sand
Lowing in the sun, always having fun
Doin' all these things, w/o any strings...don't tie me out
(Cowus:)
I wanna be free
Try to milk the sheep instead Fred
If you want to be my friend Fred
Then please turn off the fence Fred
The fence Fred...I gotta moo
I wanna be free
(Repeat Cowus)
I wanna be free
I wanna be free...

Funny visual ! Davy Jones dressed in cow suit ! too silly! =)
Great job, Milky, er, Melhi.
Thanks Spaff and Diva! Diva, I'm not sure they're still webbed, but a couple of professional artists in the Monkees fanbase drew some hilarious "Moo"kees cowtoons of the guys, back then.
I'm a big Monkees fan also. I will be contibuting more of them to this site, but I'll leave the cows to you. And I do know this song.
Looking forward to them, Rick... and I'll happily trade you the cows for some magic beans oh, who am I kidding, I'd trade them off for some pocket lint and the sticky thing it's stuck to. :) Thanks for the read n rate!
