All the guys in town (all the guys in town)
Are incredibly fey (are incredibly fey)
I just came out to walk (just came out to walk)
Along the Frisco Bay (along the Frisco Bay)
But now I'm getting hit-on (now I'm getting hit-on)
Eight-hundred times a day (eight-hundred times a day)

San Francisco nightmare (San Francisco nightmare)
Wish I were in L.A.

I went into a church
Where I thought I could pray
I wouldn't get down on my knees (get down on my knees)
Because the priest was gay ('cause the priest was gay)
You know, when he said "let's get married" (he said "let's get married")
I turned and ran away (turned and ran away)

San Francisco nightmare (San Francisco nightmare)
Wish I were in L.A.

A figure dressed in silk (figure dressed in silk)
Said "let's have some fun" (said "let's have some fun")
It was the ghost of Harvey Milk! (ghost of Harvey Milk)
And I began to run (I began to run)
If I were Danny White (if I were Danny White)
I would have had a gun (and some Twinkies, too!)

San Francisco nightmare (San Francisco nightmare)
Wish I were in L.A. (San Francisco nightmare)
Or maybe San Jose (San Francisco nightmare)
Please help me get away!!!

(voice of Harvey Fierstein)
"You know something, Tony? You really make me sick!"

I'm a Pittsburgh native from the smoky steel -making years. On travels, I was asked often, "Did you come clean from Pittsburgh?" yuk-yuk
Today's equivalent is "Did you come straight from San Francisco?" lmao 555
