Funny how the hippy-dippy folk singers of the 1960s were looking forward to their fruity New Age ideologies producing a peaceful utopian future something like the one portrayed in Star Trek, but the only society from the Star Trek franchise their future has actually come to resemble is that of Turkana IV.
Last night I had the dumbest dream
Such as one rarely sees:
I dreamed some racist urban fools
Defunded the police.

I dreamed the fools at City Hall
Took up this loony cause:
To cut policemen's funding so
They couldn't enforce laws.

After their resolution passed,
These hypocritical 'tards
Went home to their walled-off exurbs
And private bodyguards.

Then the police quit, and criminals
Rampaged the city 'round;
They shot folks dead, and rioted,
And burned it to the ground.

When I awoke from this dumb dream,
And turned on my TV,
I saw my nightmare on the screen:
It was reality.
As an old Armenian joke goes:

Q: Is there going to be another World War?

A: No, but there's going to be such a struggle for peace that not one stone will be left standing on another!

This is a good one. I used this tune a long time ago to describe the Kansas City Chiefs, pre Patrick Mahomes. These days it seems everyone's worst nightmares are this morning's news. The first thing I look at when logging onto AIR is the name of the original song. A song that I am familiar with will get my attention. Especially if it's one I like. I like the OS and your update.
