The Lyrics
My day is a long day
All these stories must be told
I’ve recorded life, each instance
Some are edited quite nicely in some packages
Once my intent
Shoot a man here, or a woman there
Get check then pay the rent
When I leave my home
And the morning sun
Isn’t up yet, just a void
There’s a breakfast dive of strangers
Got a coffee and the daily paper
Read’n stare
Sipping slow, seeking out the juicy stories
Where the trusty lens will go
Looking for the places
For a later show
Lie la lie
Holding hefty Sony cam’ra
I shoot talking heads a lot
Then I shoot some fodder
Like the traffic jam at Elm and Seventh Avenue
I do declare
There are times when sky is so awesome
I’ll point my lens up there
Lie la lie
When I’m focused on a happy soul
Or shooting fraud or squad
It’s a song
And skyline city pictures
Are seemingly
Leading me
Down a road
To the viewer I’m a shooter
And the cam’ra is my trade
And I carry the reminders
Of ev’ry shot I lost and found
They’re in here in my mind now
No two stories are the same
There’s no feeling like I’m feeling
When the glass finds new terrain…
Lie la lie
