In 1967, James Coburn starred in an offbeat comedy western called, "Waterhole # 3"..anyone else remember it?..The film got mixed reviews..but I always like the title song by Roger Miller...
The cold of the west
Was what Crazy Horse had
Not a slight case of sniffles,
But rattlesnake bad..
It's what riled him meaner
Than timber wolf bites..
And sent him out scalpin' at nights
Oh, the cold of the west,
Made him brandish the war club
The cold of the west,
Made him ravage and kill..
Back in them olden times,
They had no Vick's Vapo-rub
What saved many settlers,
Was tonic...from Buffalo Bill..
He war danced for battle,
When fever got higher,
Then stampeded cattle,
And cut thru barbed wire..
The battle of Big Horn,
He fought with his band..
And trampled on Custer's last stand
The cold of the west
Was what Crazy Horse suffered
The cold of the west
Made him ravage and kill
Had no ibuprofen, and no aspirin, buffered
What saved many settlers,
Was tonic and fur skins..from Buffalo Bill
Tonic and fur skins..from Buffalo Bill
Was what Crazy Horse had
Not a slight case of sniffles,
But rattlesnake bad..
It's what riled him meaner
Than timber wolf bites..
And sent him out scalpin' at nights
Oh, the cold of the west,
Made him brandish the war club
The cold of the west,

I remember the movie and the song. It was a funny movie - I think there was a scene where a guy was calling him out to have a gun draw. Instead the Coburn character just walked out and shot him because he knew he couldn't outdraw him. Good parody of the song on this one, keeping the western theme.
I haven't seen the movie, but I enjoyed your parody! James Coburn is one of the most well known icons in the 60's. Loved the Western theme in your satire! Ropin' 3 sets of 5's for y'all!
AirFarceWon and Wild Bill Codeine-- what a pair(ody)!
Thanks, Timmy, Christie, and fg...funny pun..
