"Mr. Ed TV Theme Song"

Original Performer:

Ray Evans and Jay Livingston

Parody Song Title:

"Blade Bled..."

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

Why some women should carry guns...
A knife is a knife, many types take lives
And no one wants to be IN a knife fight
Unless that fight's fought just right, the blade will strike,
leaving someone dead!

Women:

So don't go out at night with jewels in sight
Down a back alley that has no light
A thug in black is a frightening sight
Take a cab instead!

Criminals and wacky creeps search out the easiest prey
Knife in hand of a crazy man, you'd better run AND pray!

A knife is a knife, many types take lives
You gotta fight back if you wanna survive
So carry a Kahr 9 in your purse
Or else
... you could end up DEAD!!!

Blade bled...

Please note that Mr. Ed was actually a female Zebra named Amelia from Jungleland. With B&W filming, the animal comes out ghost gray looking. When it came down to color changeover, the network shifted the time slot.

^ guess no one picked up that urban legend! Although white Zebras were used in some scenes when the horse Bamboo Harvester was ill, it was a show horse and it clearly had a penis!!!

Don't remember seeing a horse's penis on TV in the 1960's. Maybe things were not so uptight in California. A knife can be a good weapon if you are in a crowd and the risk is too high of hitting an innocent bystander with a bullet. Ever hear of Arlene Del Fava? She was coming home from the World's Fair in New York in 1962. A mugger grabbed her and she stabbed him with a switchblade knife. The police arrested her for possession of an illegal weapon. Fortunately the prosecutor refused to indict her. I recent years a lot of New Yorkers have been arrested and prosecuted for carrying "spring assist" and thumb stud knives that can be opened with one hand. There is a Knife Rights organization similar to the NRA which has been successful in lobbying a number of states to change their archaic knife laws.

Thanks guys! Came to mind from a "Family Guy" episode in which Stewie tries to teach an English girl to speak American English. " The life of the wife is ended by the knife!"
