Original Performer:

Otis Redding

Parody Song Title:

"Picking on Barack in Debates"

Parody Written by:

John Jenkins

Is it true that Hillary’s primary motivation for running for president is to be able to appoint Bill to the Supreme Court to keep him out of trouble?
Standing at my podium,
In this hostile auditorium,
Hating Obama cheers
‘Cause he should have waited eight more years.

Picking on Barack in debates,
Watching as he wins more states
‘Cause voters know his message resonates
More than mine.

I watched the polls in Georgia,
But they’re going down HILL.
So I need a skillful hit man,
And I know just the guy who fits the BILL.

Now we’re both
Picking on Barack ev’ry day,
But he just won’t go away
Because voters don’t believe what we say
Half the time.

Looks like Bill’s old dignity
Got hurt by his “fairy tale” lie.*
I can’t win the ten states that I need to win
‘Cause now it won’t help if I cry.

If my poll ratings don’t budge,
I won’t be able to make Bill a judge.
So two thousand facts I fudge,
Just like a left wing Matt Drudge.

And I’m still
Picking on Barack in debates
Watching as he wins more states
‘Cause voters are appalled by candidates
Who just whine.
* Bill Clinton described Barack Obama’s opposition to the Iraqi War as “the biggest fairy tale I’ve ever seen.” It’s more of a distortion than a lie, but distortion did not fit above.

5s for parody, maybe 4s for "parity," unless forthcoming are offerings for all candidates' fact-and-fiction intraparty opponent bashing. :-)

Thanks for the votes and comments. Stan, my parodies are not about parity or quotas, but I am an equal opportunity parodist. Although I prefer to spoof liberals, I have done at least 3 parodies that targeted Republicans. And, although I also prefer to read parodies of liberals, I do realize that most of AmIRight’s parodists see things the other way; and I do enjoy a lot of spoofs about Republicans by you and others, especially when they are not just rants.LittleAmaCakes, I think you commented elsewhere that you do not do parodies, but your comment above indicates that you should start submitting ASAP.

I laughed a little, frowned a little. Some of your pacing seems off to me. Pretty good stuff overall. 4-4-4. P.S. You're right about LittleAmaCakes. And thanks for being an "equal opportunity parodist".
