| Parody Written by: | Loose Bruce Kerr |
Song parody about the Dubai-U.S. Port Controversy by Loose Bruce Kerr, song parodist featured on the Dr. Demento & Jim Bohannon national syndicated radio shows. Bruce is also an attorney with Sun Microsystems.
1. Sittin' in the port on my bum
I'll be sittin' when my final act comes
Watching the containers roll in
I'll be inside one when the fireworks begin
CHORUS:
I'm just SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI
In an American port, oh why?
SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI
Biding my time
2. I was a separatist fighting in Georgia
Then Afghanistan called me away
A training camp in Pakistan mountains
Till misfortune led me here to today
CHORUS:
Now I'm just SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI
In a U.S. port, my oh my
SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI
Biding my time
BRIDGE:
Look out, is coming big change
Right now, the port looks the same
But I have to do what I'm told to do
(spoken:) Slipping into America in this container
was not in my job description, believe me!
Oywell, not "oy"oil, maybebut not, "oy"
3. Soon I'll just be ashes and bones
When I set off this device on my own
Ten thousand miles I've roamed
Just to make ground zero my home
CHORUS:
I'm just SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI
Watching the whole world passing me by
SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI
Biding my time
(whistle part, but in minor Arabic mode)
I'll be sittin' when my final act comes
Watching the containers roll in
I'll be inside one when the fireworks begin
CHORUS:
I'm just SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI
In an American port, oh why?
SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF DUBAI

555, period. ^__^
Excellent title and idea
Well done. Thank goodness it looks like the deal is off, and Dubya has been smacked down by his fellow Republicans.
Good parody. Unfortunately I think the whole Dubai thing was a Rove scam. Bush is a lame duck so who cares what the voters think. This deal gave Republicans in congress a chance to stand up against their leader who never intended the deal to go through in the first place! Now they have something to crow about in November.
I don't know anything about this, but thought it was good. 555's.
