Song Parodies -> Randi Rhodes
| Original Song Title: | "Ramblin' Rose" |
| Original Performer: | Nat King Cole |
| Parody Song Title: | "Randi Rhodes" |
| Parody Written by: | John Jenkins |
The suspension of Randi Rhodes is not a big news story since almost nobody listens to Air America. But if Bill O’Reilly or Laura Ingraham had done something similar, I think there would have already been a few AmIRight parodies spoofing it.
Randi Rhodes, Randi Rhodes,
When you lips move, stuff explodes.
Used the f-word,
That’s what we heard.
Now you’ve been told to hit the road.
Randi dear, Randi dear,
Your employers made it clear.
They won’t hire
A quagmire
Who makes sponsors disappear.
Randi Rhodes, Randi Rhodes
Eloquence is not your mode.
You and Clinton
Are repentin’
Thanks to your verbal overload.
Randi Rhodes, Randi Rhodes
When your brain works, it implodes.
Dissed Ferraro,
Lost your talk show,
Now who will hire Ms. Randi Rhodes?
When you lips move, stuff explodes.
Used the f-word,
That’s what we heard.
Now you’ve been told to hit the road.
Randi dear, Randi dear,
Your employers made it clear.
They won’t hire
A quagmire
Who makes sponsors disappear.
Randi Rhodes, Randi Rhodes
Eloquence is not your mode.
You and Clinton
Are repentin’
Thanks to your verbal overload.
Randi Rhodes, Randi Rhodes
When your brain works, it implodes.
Dissed Ferraro,
Lost your talk show,
Now who will hire Ms. Randi Rhodes?

I saw the title and not being a Yank and knowing who RR is, thought maybe it sounded like it was about a porn star!
Good parody, but.... What do you mean IF O'Reilly said something like this? This is the guy who blames victims of pedophiles and house fires for their own plights. This is the guy who said there were no homeless veterans and then got picketed by homeless veterans, and instead of admitting he was wrong, called them drunks and addicts. Randi Rhodes was wrong, but O'Really has done far worse, but because he works for Rupert Murdoch, he still has a job. Billo is to Murdoch as Isiah Thomas is to James Dolan -- then again, even Dolan is beginning to see the light. When will The Rupe do the same? Keith Olbermann almost has it right: Bill O'Reilly is not the worst person in the world, Rupert Murdoch is, for hiring O'Reilly, and for so much more. And Laura Ingraham is a moron. How exactly is someone supposed to "shut up and sing"?
Great parody, John, but I'm confused... Air America is a liberal radio show, Randi Rhodes seems to be the liberal counterpart to Ann Coulter, and she's verbally slaughtering Hilary and Geraldine Ferraro? I heard the clip that got her suspended. Something doesn't add up... for one, it was a stand up act, one sorely lacking in humor. Two, it looked like she was baked out of her skull.
Actually, the reaction on the right was, for the most part, "You mean there's still an Air America? I thought they went out of business last year!" Mike's beloved Keith Olberscamm may flame out the same way eventually, but if he does, it won't get much press either, and for all the same reasons: because he's mindless (as are all lefties) and because no one who's anyone actually listens to his delusional ravings. His firing will come as a major disappointment to all three of his fans, I'm sure.
Peregrin, thanks for letting us know what gets your attention.
MP, thanks for the comment. It has been a while since you commented on one of my parodies, so I thought you were boycotting me. My take on the disagreement between Bill O’Reilly and John Edwards about homeless veterans is that Mr. O’Reilly suggested that Mr. Edwards misdiagnosed the extent, the cause, and the cure for the problem. On his website, Mr. O’Reilly agreed that “that the government was not doing enough to help homeless addicted veterans,” and he quoted Joseph Califano, the president of the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, who had been a guest on his program and stated that "about 90 percent of the homeless in this country have drug problems or alcohol problems or both.” So I think that if you have an issue, it is with Mr. Califano, not Mr. O’Reilly or Mr. Murdoch.
Red Ant, I think your assessment is correct. Apparently, Ms. Rhodes is an Obama supporter who got carried away. I wanted to link the youtube version of her diatribe, but it was removed from the internet for copyright issues.
Right Guy, thanks for helping me respond to Mr. Pacholek. Are you who I think you are?
