The Lyrics

There are no strings on where he stands
In life, or love, or politics
He always lets it hit the fans
Makes sure the needy get their licks
He wraps it up and sends it home
His bang hard bumper spares no chrome..

They call him, Imus In The Morning, Imus
His tongue in cheek, and cool sarcasm slays us
We'll take Don Imus In The Morning, Imus
Great cowboy wit and comedy

Folks either love, or hate his guts
He could care less, anyhow
Though some won't like his "If's or but's"
He's gonna' run the farm and plow
He pulls no punches, left or right
With modern day Will Rogers bite..

Imus, Imus, Imus,

They call him, Imus In The Morning, Imus
His tongue in cheek, and cool sarcasm slays us
We'll take Don Imus In The Morning, Imus
Great cowboy wit and comedy

They call him Imus In The Morning, Imus
His tongue in cheek, and cool sarcasm slays us
We'll take Don Imus In The Morning, Imus
Great cowboy wit and comedy..

A nice tribute.

Joe Lieberman once said, "Don's not aging so much as decomposing." And this is a guy Imus likes. By the way, it was Juice Newton, not Olivia Newton-John, who massacred this classic... not that Olivia wouldn't have made a bad version, if given the chance.

Thanks, alvin, Rex, and Michael.....The web disagrees with you....when I keyworded it for lyrics...it shows several artists who recorded it, and lists Olivia N.J. as having it in her, "Crystal Lady" album

Very clever title. I used to listen to Imus in the morning largely because he had some very good guests. But I got tired of how he would spend half (or more) of the show talking about his salsa, his ranch, and his son. And how somebody had slighted him and he was going to make that person pay. And I didn't perceive him to be quite as witty as you do.

Thanks, John....Well, I guess, nobody's perfect...He does have his bad days...like all of us, I suppose... I believe wit, like humor, can be subjective

I have no idea who Imus is, but I love the connection with this OS, and we have a few Imus-types over here in Oz - 555
