| Parody Song Title: | "Did They Pry His Rifle From His Cold Dead Hands?" |
| Parody Written by: | Airfarcewon |
Charlton Heston passed away on April 5th at the age of 84
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
He defended that ammendment with some firm hard stands
Oh, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Portrayed great bible men and a fine actor he'd be
Best role recalled is Moses parting the Red Sea
Also, sev'ral cowboy parts, his presence held commands
Oh, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
When he led the NRA, these were his plans
He activated for gun rights with some strong firm stands
So, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
He cut a classic profile and he spoke real strong
And had a famous film career, successful, grand and long
In "Ben Hur" the hero, and he thrilled all his fans.
Oh, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Oh, he jutted out his chiseled jaw, made loud demands
So, did they pry that rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
He defended that ammendment with some firm hard stands
Oh, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Portrayed great bible men and a fine actor he'd be
Best role recalled is Moses parting the Red Sea
Also, sev'ral cowboy parts, his presence held commands
Oh, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?

He activated for gun rights with some strong firm stands
So, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
He cut a classic profile and he spoke real strong
And had a famous film career, successful, grand and long
In "Ben Hur" the hero, and he thrilled all his fans.
Oh, did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Did they pry his rifle from his cold dead hands?
Oh, he jutted out his chiseled jaw, made loud demands
So, did they pry that rifle from his cold dead hands?

DKTOS and it's not on YouTube so I'll just comment, this seems as a nice homage to a that old actor, and a good title for it too, kinda like if it hade been Arnold Schwarzenegger you had named it "hasta la vista.
funny, a friend of mine called me right after heston died and asked me this very question
Thanks, Peter...yeah it's an old country song......and thanks, alvin...I guess it is what comes to mind
Very good, Sir. I enjoyed Mr Heston's work, along with his manly presence, too! No one in Hollywood today compares with him.
Thanks, LCC..true, he was one of the last old school Hollywood legends
I don't think it's funny. You won't make up a song like that about blacks or queers or lesbians because they are PC, but you'll take a cheap shot at decent country people. Don't give up your day job -- go back to your ghetto and steal hub caps. You'll make more money and it will feel right.
2nd View, Sir L'Air, this still stands, as a sensitive tribute to MrHeston. ~BenHurr~ is my favorite. But he did ~Amazon Jungle~, an earlier b/w film with Eleanor Parker; you might check it out, Sir ! He always performed so well in those "Sir Sweaty " roles !
gitifdl: Thanks for using your real name...Hub caps? sure, just let me know where you park your 73 Escort
Thanks for your comment..LCC
Sir L'Air , you are indeed hilarious! Would the hub caps from an '86 LeBaron suffice, Sir ? . . . I can FedEx them to you!
