The original song is a protest anthem written for the 2019 Hong Kong protests against Chinese influence. I've written a parody about my school's bad sports performance.
O why is our school bad at sports?
O how do we keep losing games?
Have faith, don't despair, we will prove our worth,
Let's bring glory to our school!
Our athletes have trained hard and well,
Then why can't they score a single point?
It's fine, no one cares, our voices proudly sing
That the pen will beat the sword!
Though embarrassed on the field we are,
At our desks, us humble students persevere
For one day as we must believe,
the fruit of our work will show and we will earn our part!
When the game ends we'll not grieve for our loss.
United as one our composure shall not wane.
We'll show the world ou-ur strength as our pens write on,
We'll bring glory to Gunn High!
