When shopping at our local superstore
The low cost special offers are enticing
The things we do not need we just want more

You know it can’t be true, what I just said.
If it were we’d only shop one place instead

If the price just mattered now

Then we’d all buy Lidl
They give you everything you’ve ever dreamed of
We’d all buy Lidl
A damaged tin of beans with ninety percent off
We’d all buy Lidl
I’d never think I’m cheap in all my life
Yet all the time
I ask myself why
I’m shopping here

Quality is something non-existent
You always get what you are paying for
You share the shop with one teenage assistant
Who picks his nose and flicks it on the floor.

I wish it wasn’t true, what I just said.
But I still go there for half-off cheap white bread.

Cause I’m cheap and now you know.

If we weren’t hung up on taste and product quality

The sell-by date on this says 1993!
Yet we’d still buy Lidl
I shopped there ev’ry day throughout my life
