Half past five
and Mama calls our names
my little sis and I, "You two,
need to come in now, it's late"
We put our toys down
and we both run towards the door
Mama yells "wipe yall's feet,
don't get mud on the clean floor"

Then I see peas
chicken, and a peach pie
And it all smells great
this is our best time
it's supper time

Our hands washed
we sit down in our chairs
Then, Mama says "Let's all join hands,
and say a prayer"
"God bless our food,
our friends and family,
and bless those we've lost...
Amen" Then, we talk and eat

And then, I think
how blessed, are my family and I
Oh, but I don't take
for granted, our good life
and these special times
