Names -> Cool Band Names -> N, Page 4

Whenever I hear a cool phrase somewhere, I like to exclaim "That would make a cool band name". This page is a list of such names.

I can not verify whether these names have been taken yet or not. If your band happens to already use one of these names sorry. If you want to use a name you see here, you'll need to verify it's not already in use.

Nova Gnome An art project from my HS days brought along this name. The task was to actually design our own CD covers by the conjunction of random words written on pieces of paper that were draw from a hat. Coming up with fourteen names for tracks that related to a gnome was a little strange though.  C.M.
Novacaine My friend, Ciara and I were listening to Green Day's "Give me Novacaine" and I guess we thought it was cool.  Audrey Ingalls
Novelty Oath I came up with this name for a school project where we had to actually make a pretend band. I was looking through a dictionary for a name and I saw the word novelty which means something new or unusual. Who doesn't want to be new or unusual? Then I saw oath/ a solemn promise. I think it's awsome. Marie Ipock

Now In Stores My friends and I were sitting in Bio, and I thought how werid it would be if a band's name was Now In Stores, and their first album was "Now in Stores" if the radio wanted to announce it, they'd have to say "Now In Stores', 'Now in Stores' is Now in stores!!" Then my friend pointed out that they'd probably mess it up and say: "Now In Stores' self titled album, is now available!" Mitzi
Nowe Klue My band members and I were thinking of a name. So I asked my brother, and he said that he didn't have a clue on what name was good. I went to my band and said that he had no clue. But it was on e-mail, and I typed "nowe klue". Our drummer suggested we use Nowe Klue. Jordan
Noyze This is my boyfriend's band name, my nickname is Noyze, they play punk type music... Jessica
Nozedef i was walkin in my college halls today and this group of people was smellin "woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" horrible is an understatement...so i was like, i wish i was nose deaf!!!  Darcy

Nu Era It means New Era, which just sounds cool. Haizie
Nucking Futs It's from the movie "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star". Nick
Nuclear Buddha This came up when Afghanistan was destroying their 100-foot Buddha statues for "idolatry" or some such; we were deciding what the UN should do to make the punishment fit the crime, and came up with airdropping giant Buddha statues all across the country. One of the less subtle members of the group said that the largest one should be a nuke in disguise, and things went downhill from there . . . J. B. Ramon
Nuclear Crayon You know those people who pronounce 'nuclear' as 'nucular?' And the ones who pronounce 'crayon' as 'crown?' And the ones who do both? Wow... I just found it amusing that this could sound completely different depending on who says it. If any of my friends ever start a band I'm going to insist that they call it this. Smallone
Nuclear Easter Egg Well last Easter, I helped my parents hide Easter eggs for my little sister to find. She couldn't find one, and we forgot where we put it. So about 2 months later, my dad stepped on it and cracked it open. It was the worst smell I've ever smelled. So hints the name Nuclear Easter Egg. patrick
Nuclear Fetus Awhile back I was in class with friends and we were talking about our favorite bands. I brought up Nuclear Assault and my friend brought up Dying Fetus then out of nowhere this kid near us just blurted out Nuclear Fetus. Lmao!! MAS
Nuclear Halocaust Cockroaches My friend and I was reading this book and it said if there was ever a Nuclear Haulocaust, the world would be inherited by Cockroaches. We got kicked out of the library for that. SPAC
Nuclear Hamburger I was talking to my husband about what he wanted for dinner and he said something that sounded like nuclear hamburger. I imagine this is a band of vegetarians or chicken farmers. sherri
Nuclear Puppy atomic kitten, nuclear puppy gheddit?? Very clever ay??Atomic kitten suk but nuclear puppy z so obviously a cool nu metal band clo87
Nucular Destruction (Board Game) I came up with it because I like to invent stupid stuff. This was a board game. Amber Loves Billy
Nuculear Energy This sounds like a gnarley hard rock name. It'll really kick things up! dj fritz
Nude Beach BJ Jet Ski Fight Some weird news headline I saw in a collection of weird headlines. [Ed: I'm almost afraid to ask.] JeReMy
Nuke The Munchkins My brother actually has this tatto'd on his upper arm written backwards. I think he may have been out of it when he got it. He was in the US Army stationed in Baadersvelt (spellcheck), Germany. Nice going Eddie. JohnnyB
Nuke The Whales! From a banner in Nelson's rooms (from The Simpsons). Quote: You gotta nuke something! Henry
Nuke96 I thought about Nuke94 (I was born in 1994). until i realised that 999 is the police number in the UK and 666 is the devil number. Add them together and tah-dah! Nuke96 nevergonnaknow
The Nukular Son Its a word play. I was wondering why Dubya (Son of George) says nukular when he means nuclear, and I liked the sound of it. da dean
Num-chuck {Chicz} ok, so maybe the spelling is strange, but a female metal band could definately use this... I mean whats cooler than a couple of chicks catfighting with numchucks!?... BlackSephiroth
Number Two If you call youre band number two, and you score a number one hit it 'll sound like: here's the new number one, number two! Bobje
Numeró Uno One day I was watching the number one countdown for pop songs. when number one came, the host said, "and now time for numeró uno!" and I thought it would be an awesome name for a band!  Sydney
Nun Jelly My mom had bought some grape jelly or something to benefit nuns, and one day she was baking with it, and I asked her "Is that the nun jelly?" I just thought it sounded cool. Subject to Change
The Nun-Tipper As a kid my friends and I went cow-tipping. You just kind of give the cow a push and then run for your life. It was lots of fun. Then as a junior in high school we visited a Catholic church in Canada. We thought it would be cool to go nun-tipping some time. Near the top of the stairs just push a nun and down she goes. We envisioned dominoes... cathoboy
The Nuthatches Since there are numerous bird names for bands, including The Larks, The Sandpipers, The Flamingos, and The Eagles, here's another bird name I thought I'd suggest! D. Melody Dole, MD
The Nutmegger Iguanas A friend of mine says that each US state brings a certain image to her mind. For some reason Connecticut brings to mind for her an iguana. "Nutmegger" is a name for a Connecticut resident. But there is a possible double entendre here, as Urban Dictionary says that "Nutmegger" can also refer to one who uses nutmeg as a drug to get a high from it. Regina Haniger
Nutpunch Hogtie Like a lot of my submissions, it's from TruTV Presents World's Dumbest... (formerly known as The Smoking Gun Presents World's Dumbest...) JeReMy
Nutra-Swank Nutra-sweet is/was a sugar substitute that almost everyone has heard of ( although it may cause brain tumors) and swank is a funktastic word. Dangerously Funky!  The Incredible Dudeman
Nux Vomica Good metal band name, straight out of the dictionary, it's a type of plant proylea
NV ( envy ) My friend in school was gonna make a name for a rock band he ws making with friends, and he had the name NVC ( new vice calimers ). He decided to change the name, so I took the letters NV and said them to myself a few times. It sounded cool, so if I make a band, I'll name it NV. ty
NV:us it was the drummer... always blame the drummer fenton
Nybbles and Bits Techno-geek coolness....a "nybble" is one-half of a "byte" in computer-jargon, and a "bit" is a computer's way of recording a 1 or a 0. Plus, it sounds like the dog food "Kibbles and Bits". Johnny D
The Nylon Wasps Why's it cool? I just liked the groove of it...I was working in a gym, and a snatch of song from the stereo system either sounded like Nylon Wasps, or made it pop into my head at that moment... Ben
Nymphomaniac Cows Because there actually is such a thing...look it up in the veterinary literature. Mike Lydic
Nytrus This is in reference to nitrous oxide, which is used for anesthesia (not a bad band name either!) or to boost a car's engine power, and the misspelling makes it different. Would be a good thrash-metal/punk band name... Carla Bisagni
N² TH I thought this was a really cool name. Me and my friends were trying to think of possible names for their new band so we came up with N² TH which is Nails To The Hands. This would be for like a Christian rock band.  Ashley
