"Your War"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

If you think this is a "political piece" - Well, you are wrong, it has nothing to do with my political alignment. Call it "Truth to Power", for that is what I believe it to be. If you will bear with me, you will notice the capitalization of certain words inside sentences where one normally would not, such as "War". I have done this on purpose for emphasis. I have also added some additional lyric lines in parentheses where there are Instrumental parts of the Original Song. The words in parentheses at the end are for the singing in the background of the long instrumental section that goes on to the Fade...Thanks...
It's not getting any better
Can you see all of the pain?
It's always been real easy for you
to find someone else to blame

You said
"Need War
It's right
It's one we need and
we have to fight"
Got your War
Now we must bear it
and it grieves me greatly
that you don't seem to care

(No, you don't)
(No, you don't)
(No, you don't)
(No, you don't, Sir)

You sure disappoint me
With what comes out of your mouth
In Iraq you send folks to War
But you chose to sit yours out

Now it's too late
We fight
the Quagmire deepens
Our Nation's Plight
Your War
Now one thing is plain
Many have buried their Brothers
And soon many Others
Your War
(Yes, it is...George...Your War)

(Yes...Your War, George)

Someday you'll need forgiveness
From your actions; many dead
You say you pray to Jesus
Did you hear anything He said?
Well, you asked for War
and It's what we got
This War you gave us
now it Stinks of rot
This War
It is quite Insane
As we all bury our Brothers
Do you feel all our Pain?

You said
"War was essential"
I say that it was not
"This War was essential"
Clearly, it was not
You, Mr. President, sir
you've put us in this spot
How long 'til we can get out?
Got what you wanted
But all we got is Hurt

Your War
Our Blood
Your Lies
You did not do what you should

Your Lies
will be discovered
we promise
My Brothers

You Lie
But you show no shame
Meanwhile we bury more others
Bury our Brothers
Why?

Why?

(Why?)

(Why?)
(Man, come on, tell us George...)

(Why?)
(come on, tell us, man)

(Geor-or-horge !)
(come on, tell)

(Geor-or-horge !)

(Geor-or-horge !)

(Geor-or-horge !)

(Geor-or-horge !)

(Geor-or-horge !)

A heartfelt message....you said what you wanted to say. DKTOS, but I trust your pacing. ( I do disagree with the premise, though it's still a good parody) 5's

Agri - boy would I LOVE to hear THAT!!! I wouldn't even care if I got any credit for it.....ahh...umm...ah...wait...THAT's BS of just about the highest order - of COURSE I would want to get mentioned...just as long as someone would be around to help attach some weighted ballasts around my waist...otherwise I suspect that a suddenly over-inflated hot-air filled ego might carry me off too far into the stratosphere and I'd end up croaking from asphixiation...although I must admit that such an event WOULD certainly attract even more attention to my parody lyrcis...SAY...HOW ABOUT as a HALFTIME event during one of the NBA Finals, say one of the ones scheduled for Sunday afternoon? Well, fantasies aside, thank you for the remark...I have to say that it's quite an image...WAIT...and AFTER he sings it, he can introduced me to the world and surprise everyone by announcing he is taking me with the group on a world tour to promote everlasting utopian peace, love, prosperity, happy-happy-happy, joy-joy-joy harmony and free ice cream and cake everyday for everyone without the possibility of diabetes, heart disease or obesity...there...did I cover everything? OH...hate to stop, but I gotta clear outta here now, I have to clock in here in about 8 minutes and get to work...later ~ ~ ~
