Story about this misheard lyric by: Jeff Duntemann Back in the late 1960s, I was reading a lot of H. P. Lovecraft and such. So the word 'necromancer' was on my mind a lot. I wasn't a big fan of Harper's Bizarre, but once when the song was playing on WLS the line jumped out at me in a perfect WTF? moment. I guess it was just a consequence of reading Lovecraft before Cole Porter, heh. |
