Are there any problems with the site? I've been redesigning several portions of the site and adding new sections. I've tried to test as much as I can, but there may still be problems. Please follow the link and let me know if you are having any problems with the site.

Last time I submitted misheard lyrics, the button to click on for submitting lyrics read "Review Parody" rather than "Submit Lyrics". The submit form for "Proposed Duets" seems to have recently reversed the order of blanks for artist and for song, causing some submissions to cite the artist as the song and vice-versa. "Nonsensical Lyrics" didn't hsve a submit function the last time I tried to submit a new entry. "Dumb Lyrics " does not have a left-hand link, and its entries were not being accessed by the Google search the last time I tried. All of the "Real Lyrics" pages seem to have quit having any display function for new entries, so checking new entries on those pages cannot be conveniently done anymore. The misheard lyrics searches "By Artist" and "By Song" lead to all letters of the alphabet to click on but no "Miscellaneous". So when I tried to search that way for an entry beginning with a numeral, I couldn't do it.

Have you quit adding entries to the new "Combined Groups" page? I certainly hope not! Some of those are very funny!
Doug Montgomery - August 28, 2005 - Report this comment
I agree with Donna: where are the new entries, for Real Lyrics, posted? At the very least you could append some kind of symbol next to names of artists whose lyrics were posted within the last X days...

Ok, I see most of those problems and I'll fix them today.

As for the new entries on the real lyrics pages, I've moved the newest entries pages, but there are still lists of the latest entries. When you click on the left-hand navigation link, it will bring up the last twenty entries for any of those pages. It looks like the links weren't changed on the index page for the section though.

As for the combo groups, I haven't set up the new editor for that yet (and I wanted to review the first few batches myself), so new entries are a little sporadic at the moment. Red Ant will be doing that section and the other two new pages real soon.

I think I found the issues with the real lyrics "latest" pages. Looks like a couple of editors didn't get updated scripts (my fault!). I still need to test and make sure they're ok.

ok... performers and songs beginning with numbers are once again on their own index pages. I though I did that when I redesigned them, but must have forgotten.

The proposed duets pages, I'd hate to change that one again and cause further problems, I'll just have to edit/remove the wrongly filled ones for now.

Nonsensical lyrics, I see a submit form link now, might have been related to the broken latest entries page. Let me know if it happens again

dumb lyrics... ugh... the person who was editor for that section stopped updating it in April and only showed new entries during the redesign of the site (due to my testing new scripts). I only kept it running because that person wanted it. It causes way too many negative feedback about the site, and is really just too vague. Rather than add it to the navigation system, I think I'm just going to remove it once and for all.

If anyone sees any other problems (or a return of any of the previousily mentioned isses) let me know. Everything I've been told about should now be fixed.

Looks like everything I mentioned before has been changed now. Thank you! One thing that I noticed today might still need some attention, though. Latest updates for "New Commercial Music" and "Proposed Duets" are currently being indicated as December 31, when clearly they have been updated numerous times since December, including right up to the last few days.

Yeah, the "Songs for Duets, That Haven't Been Done Yet" section has the entries listed alphabetically by first song title. Where can we find the ones in which the first song title starts with a numeric character? I tried clicking on "misc", but that only lists the ones that start with other punctuation (in this case, a bracket).
ChuckyG - August 31, 2005 - Report this comment
I think the last update date for those two pages is correct now.

I'm going to have to look into the missing entries on the duet page. I see a few in the datafile that should appear on the page but don't.

In the form for entering "proposed duets", The space for "Duet Title" seems to accomodate a lot fewer characters than used to be the case. Some pretty long duet titles have been posted in the past. But recently I tried posting an entry that had only a medium long duet title, but the title wouldn't fit in the space. Seems it would be nice if the amount of characters allowed for "Duet Title" were lengthened again, at least back to the former allowance.

The submit field length should be fixed. I still need to look into the sort issue with numbers though.

PLEASE NOTE: This problem is with WHATFREAKS, NOT AMIRGHT. When you click on a limerck or haiku, it is blank and the limerick or haiku doesn't show.
ChuckyG - September 08, 2005 - Report this comment
ok. I've had some problems with that part of whatfreaks in the past too. I'll look into it tonight.
ChuckyG - September 09, 2005 - Report this comment
Fixed the bug with the missing entries on the duets page. Some of the other sections have a similar issue, and I'm checking them too!

Under "Bad On-hold Music", if you click on "S", only one entry comes up. Surely that category has more than one entry beginning with "S".

There is a category on Real Lyrics that says "Other Pages: Gross Song Lyrics - Discontinued Page." Anyway, Dumb Lyrics is now discontinued, so could THAT be listed in other pages along with the Gross Lyrics?
ChuckyG - September 14, 2005 - Report this comment
Fixed the problem with the onhold music. It was similar to the problem with some of the other pages, and I thought I had fixed it, but I missed a few lines on a handful of the pages. I haven't officially ended the dumb lyrics page, and if I do, I'll probably remove it completely from the site.
K.Y.L.E - September 14, 2005 - Report this comment
Why? Other discontinued pages you?ve kept on the site, for people to read, but not allowed them to submit to them!
ChuckyG - September 15, 2005 - Report this comment
the other pages were discontinued due to the number of replies, this one is going to be discontinued due to the quality.

When you click on "Run! It's Michael" by Squeak-Um, it doesn't work. Also, when you click on the link to submit Album Cover Parodies, it comes up blank. And I really enjoyed submitting those as well....................
