Is it supposed to be a spoof? Or the Swedish Eurovision entry that came runners-up to Abba, maybe...

I don't know. I thought the song was kind of catchy. But the video was terrible...in just about every way possible. But it is funny to watch, I'll give you that. Now excuse while I go bang my head on something until I can get the damn song out of my head.

The video was very fuzzy for me, but I could make out oddities such as David Hasselhoff sticking a salmon in his mouth, David Hasselhoff skiing in a bear suit, David Hasselhoff flying through the air, etc. And what was with the "Ooka Chacha Hooga Hooga" business? They chanted this weird phrase throughout the song.

About that "wanna love you tender" video: the singer was (and still is) a popular finnish artist, "Danny", who began his career in the sixties. In 1976 he hooked up with miss Finland contest winner Armi Aavikko, who was about 18 at the time, and they became a huge success in Finland. They wanted an international breakthrough and devised a TV Special "Danny and Armi in laser times", of which this appalling clip is derived from. D and A were lovers at the time, though it was never made public (officially). They split up later, and the poor talentless Armi succumbed to alcoholism. She died a couple of years back. Danny is still active, about 60 and wears a corset, I think.
