NPR report on the similarity in two Nickleback songs. Pretty much the same songs over and over again, but we knew that already right? If it's good once, it's even better the second time!

I'm gonna get a dozen "Nickleback" rules comments now right? I like the songs, but don't think they're all that exciting.

Hehe... I got the track mentioned months ago. If people want it, I've got it.

I actually saw Nickleback in concert a few years ago, and they stunk. The only reason I saw them was because they were at this music festival I was at, and the only other option was some really old rocker. But now I wish I'd seen Chuck Berry.

Ashlee Simpson also has the same "background beat' in her song. The beat sounds the same the verse before the chorus.

Atomic Kitten were also notorious for having the same background beat in their songs. They also murdered The Bangles' 'Eternal Flame', but that's another story.

That's what I got when I first heard "Someday" on the radio. It sounds just like "How You Remind Me"! No wonder it sounds familiar!

You could have seen Chuck Berry and you sat through these guys? yesh... Chuck Berry is more than just an old rock guy, he's a performer. Though I doubt at his age he's still doing the playing guitar on his back bit. Then again, maybe that's the only way he can still play?

Y'know, I thought You Remind Me of Someday was actually quite good :)

Me too, to tell the truth. But then again, I *always* like the odd mixed-up or otherwise amusingly arranged songs more than the originals. Parodies, a capella versions, chiptunes, fusions, classical guitar and/or piano... I love my collection :D.

I tried to combine some REM tracks last night... got some quite nice effects from Man on the Moon and the Great Beyond but nothing too impressive. After this particular experiment, I think Nickelback really could have just taken 'How You Remind Me' and changed the melody. It takes effort to get songs that similar :)
