I've disabled parody search and a couple other things, in the hope of discovering what is causing the server to crash.

By the way, I doubt that anyone is going to make a "related parody" on this.

But now that you mention it, someone might try to come up with a related parody, just to prove you wrong!

Any progress on finding the cause of crashes? Since disabling some of the searches, it seems the entire site hasn't crashed anymore. So maybe that means the problem is in the searches disabled. Good luck with finding it. I'm looking forward to being able to do all kinds of searches again and to see new misheard lyrics posted again, as well as new funny , nonsensencical, inappropriate, and insincere, etc. lyrics!

The system does seem to be a lot more stable without the search function. Now I have to try and replace all the stuff I disabled, which I really don't have the time for. Not sure what to do about that.

Well, gee. That's not the best of news that searches will be down for possibly a long time. But I'm sure you're doing what you have to. Meanwhile will new misheard lyrics be posted again any time soon, so at least we can enjoy them as they are posted, before they'll become hard to find until search functions are restored? And by the way, are all the submit functions working at present (and in the recent past), or could one think one submitted something that actually didn't go through?

Due to the loss of the messageboard, the moderator lost his links to the misheard lyrics admin. I just gave him the info he needed again today, so I'm sure he'll start to work on them again, and you should see new entries in a day or two. There's about 3,000 outstanding entries (about one month of submissions) to be reviewed , so if you submit something yesterday, it'll showup in June most likely.

The "song parody fragments" and the entire "real lyrics" section have gone without updates for months now. Are these pages becoming inactive? Or can we expect new postings to them any time soon? And might any submissions for those pages have been lost in the process of disabling certain features of the sight while looking for the cause of crashes?
