"Frere Jacques" is actually not a misheard lyric, but an example of the Beatles fooling around a bit. If you put on the headphones and listen, long drawn out "Frere Jacques" can be very clearly heard in the background in the songs' middle, during "It's a thousand pages, give or take a few..." (and the next stanza as well).
