Carly Simon, "You're So Vain"
Misheard Lyrics:
I had some dreams they were
Flowers in my coffee
or
I had a dream,
there were downs in my coffee
or
I had some dreams they were
Clowns in my coffee
or
I used to think there were cows in my coffee
Original Lyrics:
I had some dreams they were
Clouds in my coffee
Featuring Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, many people thought it was written about him. Carly Simon though has neither confirmed or denied it was written about a specific individual, though denies it was about her husband James Taylor. Many folks also speculate the song was written about Warren Beatty, who had a relationship with Carly Simon prior to her marriage to James Taylor, and he does have a pretty big ego.
