Comments:
"Gary, Indiana" is yet one more song from Meredith Wilson's musical, "The Music Man". Robert Preston as Professor Harold Hill starts out the singing on this song, supposedly about his hometown, which would become a chorus piece as it goes along.

"Seventy-six Trombones"
Opening Lines:
Seventy-six trombones led the big parade With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand.
Comments:
"Seventy-six Trombones" is another song from Meredith Wilson's musical, "The Music Man". Robert Preston who played Professor Harold Hill, the lead character, would not only play the character in the original Broadway run, but also play Hill in the 1962 motion picture. Later in the musical, "Seventy-six Trombones" is chorus and full cast piece.
