Story about this misheard lyric by: bukster

At the time this song came out in the early 70's I was about six years old. We had just done a class on sexual abuse. The lesson was very backward by today's standards. We were all warned that if we went near a public tiolet, we might meet a HOMOSEXUAL! Homosexuals were dirty men who hung around public toilets waiting for little boys to come along so they could pull our pants down. I thought this song was about somebody who had gone to close to a toilet and had their jeans pulled down by a homosexual. I know it sounds insane in the 21st century, but that is what the teacher actually told us.

Misrhymed Song Lyrics:

"Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)"
The Misrhymed Lyrics:
We were so close, there was no room
We bled inside each others wounds
We all had caught the same disease
And we all sang the songs of peace
Why They're Misrhymed:
None of the lyrics rhyme in this verse but they do in the chorus.
