So anyway, at the height of his fame Adam Ant visits the set of top British soap opera Coronation Street. As luck would have it, his favourite character Stan Ogden invites to come for a drink in legendary pub the Rover's Return on set. There they proceed to sink a great many pints of fine English ale. More than a little the worse for wear, Adam Ant decides to get one more round in. But as he stands up, he suddenly grips his side and starts moaning terribly.
'What is it, mate?' says his companion.
Adam starts singing: 'Stan, it's my liver...'

Band Name Origins:

Pretty boring but there was a show on British TV called Adam Adamant (played by Gerald Harper) about a time travelling Victorian. About as mad as Stuart Goddard. Submitted by: LRonCupboard
The band's name and the name of the singer Adam Ant was a play on the title of an old Hannah-Barbera cartoon, "The Atom Ant Show". Atom was a superhero ant who could fly and lift ten times his body weight. Submitted by: newave

In the early 1980's, Adam & the Ants (Adam Ant would later go solo and have a somewhat huge hit in the states titled, "Goody Two Shoes") on their first lp had this little remembered self-promotional tune. Although, it was slightly popular in Britain, it didn't do anything in the states -- although some of use who do remember this wouldn't have mind if Adam and his other ants had been squished for this very vain song. - Peter
