Anyone who checks out my views on It's not unusual,will see that I have likened the guy portrayed to a lunatic.Well,here we are again with yet another Jones number,and we're being presented with maybe the wettest dude in song history..Just what is going on in this guy's brain?This apparently mentally challenged dude freely admits that he has nothing and noone in his life-One wonders if he brought that hideous state of affairs on himself-He openly admits,at least to himself as noone else is interested,that he has nothing to give this mysterious lady who has captivated his heart.However,he loves her,and is convinced that noone else loves her as he does,including the man in her life who showers her with diamonds and takes her everywhere.Perhaps the saddest line of all is relating that he must watch her with his nose pressed up against the window-Man,I can just picture that now.In my mind's eye there's a stark picture of this tragic clown,with his konk flattened against the glass,as he burns for the unattainable lady going dancing by with her rich boyfriend.The image Jones is producing here,made even more startling by his powerful,rich delivery,is that of a totally hopeless geek,with a blazing crush on a beautiful girl who doesn't even know,and,one suspects,wouldn't want to know,that he even exists.All that is certain is that he loves her.Infatuation gone mad,personified in what could be the saddest specimen of the male I've ever heard of in a song.

Man,what a gigantic pile of bull it all sounds like now. Can you imagine limbering up to a girl in this day and age,whether you know her well or not,and prattling out,What's new pussycat?No.and neither can I.So,Mr Jones,girls are a bunch of sweet little felines are they?Yeah,right.Maybe on whatever planet this garbage was written on.Fact is ole' buddy boy they aint.They're human beings,and,just like dudes,there are good ones and bad ones.He's got flowers and many hours to spend with her,and spouts all manner of laughable drivel like,Go powder that little pussycat nose,and,Oh how I love those pussycat eyes.As a sidenote to this insanity,I think that Tom Jones and others down through the years have somehow forgotten that there are male cats as well.Also,since when were cats so nice and sweet anyway?One false move with those little beasts and your eye could be clawed out or something.One final observation about this drivel-He might not even be that well in with this so-called pussycat girl,for at one point he prattles that if all his wishes come true he'll soon be kissing her-That's what happens when you start out to write drivel.It can end in cocking even that up.Guys,there are times when I seriously marvel at some people-Especially some lyricists and singers.
