Suzi Quatro, "Can the Can"
Misheard Lyrics:
Well, you call your mum a tiger
And we know that you ain't lyin'
Well your sister's got to be on top
She tuckers out your mind
And your eagle don't relax
There's little bit of evil lovin' on the side
Don't let the crap get into the eagle's nest at night
Because the eagle could stay up tomorrow
(Scratch out her eyes)
Original Lyrics:
Well you call your mama tiger
And we all know you are lying
... Well your sister's got the feline touch
She touches up your mind
And your eagle lover likes his little bit of evil lovin' all the time
Don't let the cat get into the eagle's nest at night
Because the eagle could say 'yes' without a fight
(Scratch out her eyes)
I hear 'You call your mum a tiger' becuase it was written by an Australian, Mike Chapman. I'm sure I remember hearing an interview in the 1970s where Suzi said the lyric was "And we know that you ain't lyin'", which makes more sense to me. The animal imagery is so obscure I didn't know whether The boyfriend was getting it on with the mother, the sister, or both! Suzi herself never tried to understand Chapman/Chinn's songs - she just knew if they were hits. Obvious chord progression inspiration from Gary Glitter's Rock And Roll Parts 1 and 2 - cheeky!
