Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Queensryche

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Empire album at Amazon.com
Queensryche's, "Jet City Woman"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Whenever I'm alone I'm thinking
There's a clown missing from my life
The Real Lyrics:
Whenever I'm alone I'm thinking
There's a part missing from my life
The Story: I always liked the song, but never really paid much attention to the lyrics until I picked up the album used a couple of years ago. I hadn't heard the song in a while, and every time I listened, I thought it sounded like Geoff Tate (lead singer) was saying, "There's a clown missing from my life." I had visions of someone in makeup and a clown suit walking along the highway looking for Geoff Tate. I thought that was hilarious. - Submitted by: John
Queensryche's, "Jet City Woman"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Whenever I'm alone I'm thinking There's a CLOWN missing from my life
The Real Lyrics:
Whenever I'm alone I'm thinking There's a part missing from my life
The Story: No story. Just always thought the visual image of my misheard lyric was funny. - Submitted by: John
Queensryche's, "Operation: Mindcrime"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Take it steady, please.
The Real Lyrics:
Make this city bleed.
The Story: I guess it could work where they'd want him to not be erratic in killing people. The real way probably makes more sense though. :-) - Submitted by: Chris
Queensryche's, "Revolution Calling"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Got no love for politicians or that crazy CNBC
The Real Lyrics:
Got no love for politicians or that crazy scene in DC
The Story: Since CNBC deals with shows about business, economy, and stocks, it doesn't necessarily not make sense. - Submitted by: Macaroni Man
