Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Jeffrey Osborne

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Jeffrey Osborne album at Amazon.com
Jeffrey Osborne's, "On The Wings Of Love"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Insufferable it seems
The Real Lyrics:
Inseparable it seems
The Story: In-SEP-ruh-ble, is how Osborne pronounces it. So it's a lot like in-SUF-ruh-ble. After not hearing the song for a while I thought "this couldn't be it" & quickly remembered the right word, but it gives a funny image to me of a couple talking about how they loved going together to all these expensive resorts you'll never get to, or how their love is the truest, etc. - Submitted by: Andrew Schultz

Jeffrey Osborne's, "On the Wings of Love"
The Misheard Lyrics:
cashew belongs to me
The Real Lyrics:
yes you belong to me
The Story: I was eating cashew nuts while listening to this song. That's what caused me to mishear that particular line in the song. - Submitted by: Joan
Jeffrey Osborne's, "You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song)"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Can you moo moo moo?
The Real Lyrics:
Can you woo woo woo?
The Story: This is what I think about because I used to think myself that Jeffrey Osborne was encouraging people to act like a cow. - Submitted by: Cody Finke
